The basis for the research of this paper was the project Agri-food Chains Characterization and Analysis in the influence area of the INTA Anguil Experimental Station and La Pampa University. The work discusses some important subjects to analyze the beef agri-food chain in La Pampa province in Argentina. The concepts of productive chain are presented and considered as complement for the analysis. The application of middle analysis and supply chain management concepts was described as an alternative to improve the performance of productive chains.
